One of the greatest gifts we can receive is that little voice inside which invites us to “just sit with me for a minute.” It can and does happen anytime, regardless of our outer circumstances. Sometimes, it’s a little “inconvenient.” Often, we say, “Okay, just a minute – let me finish this thing first,” letting that “thing” carry us on in its wake, till we have all but forgotten about that calling.
And when we do listen, right now, and just stop, we can receive such nourishment! Even if it is only for a minute, we are refreshed, because we have given the one thing which matters most to us our attention – we have let it feed us with its infinite Presence. And we can move back into our world with renewed energy, purpose, and peace.
This is the gift of Silence.
